September 27-29: GPA (Georgia Planning Association) conference in downtown Columbus at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. Registration is at http://georgiaplanning.org A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Columbus Marriott at 800 Front Ave. Call 800-228-9290 and ask for the GPA group rate of $129, available for reservations placed through September 5.

 

October 4-5: DCA Community Planning Institute (CPI) in Savannah at the Hyatt hotel downtown, in partnership with GPA. The training will be on Preparing and Implementing your Comprehensive Plan. CPI has been approved by GPA for AICP CM credits. February 8-9, 2018: GAZA Winter conference at Georgia Veterans State Park on Lake Blackshear near Cordele. Activities to do include golf, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, frisbee golf, bicycling, hiking, and the nearby SAM Shortline Excursion Train. Please remember to renew your GAZA membership for 2017. The fee is $35 and an application may be found on this website by clicking on "Membership Application". 

 

Did you know that, as a GAZA member, you, your child, or your grandchild in college/university can apply for the $1,000 annual Betty Gecoma scholarship? Please check out the Betty Gecoma scholarship page for an application. If you or your child/grandchild is approved, you/he/she can re-apply each year to possibly receive additional funds.
